This comes with question of where could you use forgiveness in your life? What person or situation comes to mind? What resentments have you been holding on to? Who or what brings up anger in you? When you don’t take the time to work through forgiveness the world starts to seem like it has it in for you. You take on the role of victim and stay there. In order to move forward, forgiveness must be worked through.

When starting to work with forgiveness, the first person you should work on forgiving is you. No matter the situation, you did the best you could with what you knew at that time. Forgive your mistakes. Forgive your wrong assumptions. Forgive yourself for not knowing better. Forgive yourself for staying in relationships past the time you knew you should end them. Forgive yourself for not having better boundaries.

Forgiveness is not something rushed through, forgiveness is all about feeling your way through. You will have to acknowledge and feel what comes up, pain, rage, hopelessness. Forgiveness does not mean they get a pass for what they did, it means they can no longer take up space in your head and in your energy field. Forgiveness does not mean you have to let them back in your life. Forgiveness is all about boundaries. Forgiveness is for you. Forgive and free yourself.
