Instead of beating yourself up when you find that you have yet again engaged in self-sabotage, have compassion for yourself. There are many ways that self-sabotage can play out, you inner saboteur is clever. Keeping you distracted with drama, addiction, unhealthy habits, etc. When one way no longer works your inner saboteur quickly pivots to another before you even know it is happening.

Self sabotage happens to everyone. Don’t worry that it doesn’t seem like it from where you sit, it’s true. The only thing you need to focus on is whether or not you are avoiding something in your own life. Is the reason you’re not moving forward that you are self sabotaging? If so, time to disengage from self sabotaging and move on from there.

Stop bullying yourself and putting yourself down when you find yourself stagnating because of self sabotage. Dust yourself off, forgive yourself for not seeing it earlier. Then decide what step you can now take in the direction you wish to go. Doesn’t have to be a big life changing step, in fact a smaller step will do just fine. Don’t worry about the step after that, just decide the next step, and take it.
