Anticipation

This is a gentle reminder of the duality of anticipation. Anticipation can be a wonderful feeling; when you’re anticipating a vacation coming up, a date with a loved one, an event coming up. Anticipation can also bring dread, when something is coming up that you do not want to do. Anticipation can be the feeling of excitement that builds, it is also the queasy feeling in the bottom of your stomach.

No matter which spectrum of the duality you are experiencing, they both draw you out of the present moment and give your power to the future. Staying in the present moment gives you the benefit of seeing clearly. Your anticipation doesn’t build to unrealistic heights that are unachievable and it helps keep fear from growing into the what if paths.

There is no judgement on anticipation, either end of it. Either can move you out of the present moment and unground you. When this happens, take some deep breath’s and bring your self back into the present moment. You can still enjoy anticipation, and keep fear in check; you are just feeling it from the grounded, present moment.
