The Inner Child

This comes in as a gentle reminder of the importance of developing a relationship with your inner child. This may come as something new to you, or you may be well familiar with your inner child. All have within an inner child that holds imagination, creativity, vitality, enthusiasm, and joy of being. Your inner child also holds your shame, your betrayals, your hurt and pain. You inner child was never meant to hold these things, they did it out of love and protection of you.

It is important to work with your inner child and help them release the heavy burdens they have carried for you. In some cases you are able to do this on your own. Meeting your inner child in mediation and communicating with them and showering them with all the love and protection you would for anyone you loved. There may be times when the burden is heavy and you will need to have assistance from a counselor or therapist who is able to assist you in holding space for the inner child to release their burdens.

When you take time regularly to sit with your inner child, you get in touch with your creativity, your life force. Ask your inner child what they would like to do, it could be painting, drawing, walking in nature, many things, then do it. You will be in joy as you enjoy these activities with your inner child, filling your vitality for life as you do so.
