The Thorn

The thorn has one specific job for the rose bud, to protect the tender bloom, to allow space for the bloom to open and share their beauty and fragrance with the world around them. In other words, thorns offer a clear boundary that must be passed in order to reach the rose. This comes in to ask how are your boundaries? Are they effective, do you have space in order to do what you need to? Or have your boundaries been trampled on and no longer exist?

This is a reminder of how important boundaries are in your life, and the importance of stating your needs that keep your boundaries strong but allow you to get what you need in order to grow and flourish to the greatest extent. If someone is not honoring your boundaries you must speak up, you must honor your boundaries by not allowing another to take advantage of you.

Even when in relationships with loved ones, coworkers, strong boundaries are a must. Stand in your sovereignty, state clearly what you need and what expectations you have. Standing in your power is not only acting with integrity with others, but also with yourself. You are the most important relationship you will have. You are the gatekeeper that informs others on how you expect to be treated.
